If you are currently in the hospital or nursing home, ask your doctor or social worker to contact us. Of course, you can feel free to contact us at anytime; we will work with you, your doctor or social worker to plan for a safe return to your home. A Homecare Coordinator will visit you at no charge to discuss your needs. She/He will answer your questions and work with you to develop a plan of care. Once we begin your home care program, your nurse will continue visiting you to ensure that things are working well for you and update your care whenever needed. A Registered Nurse will provide health teaching as needed, case management which includes communication with doctors, family and community resources, assessment and monitoring. The Dove's registered nurses are diversely trained and can provide "high tech" nursing within the home environment including but not limited to: Blood Pressure Management Diabetic Management Pain Management IV Therapy Tracheostomy Care Dressing Changes Post Surgical Care Catheter & Colostomy Care Lab Draws/Specimen Services Post Hospitalization Care Wound Care - Full Rehabilitation Services
Physical Therapy Enhances safety and independence with ambulation and mobility. Occupational Therapy Enhances safety and independence with activities of daily living. Speech Therapy Enhances speech, communication and swallowing functions. The service is available for children and the elderly with complex medical conditions, when longer hours of nursing care are needed. Private duty nursing is provided by an RN or LPN. A Personal Care Worker will assist with feeding, bathing, grooming, personal hygiene, dressing, exercise, transferring and ambulation; additionally, can perform meal preparation and limited household tasks. - Home Health Aide Services
A Home Health Aide may do everything a Personal Care Worker does, and may perform complex treatments, range of motion, dressing changes, medication delivery, and many other medically necessary tasks. A nurse will assist in maintaining healthy feet by trimming toenails, inspecting and applying lotion in the privacy of the home. When medical conditions warrant, the physician will be contacted for approval prior to performing care. - Douglas County Jail Nurse Program
At the request of Douglas County law enforcement, the Dove Agency developed and implemented the current Jail Nurse Program in 1995. This program was utilized when developing the Jail Nurse Model Manual for Wisconsin jails. The program provides medication management, medical treatments and nursing assessment for inmates of the Douglas County Jail as well as training of correctional officers in medication management and administration.
